How long do concrete roof tiles last?

Date : 20 December, 2020

Like clay roofs, the life expectancy of tiles made from concrete is a minimum of 60 years, with the underlay having a shorter lifespan of around 40 years. This is based on average weather and atmospheric conditions. Several factors could contribute to the lifespan of concrete roof tiles.

Concrete tiles comprise cement, sand and water, and other smaller elements added depending on the manufacturer, enabling the tiles to be more durable than different types. They are also great at withstanding sustained periods of severe weather conditions.
