What is the life expectancy of a clay roof?

Date : 20 December, 2020

Clay roofs have maintained their popularity primarily because of their aesthetic appeal and durability. Most manufacturers offer a 30-year  guarantee, but according to the Building Research Establishment, clay tiling should last a minimum of 60 years. This lifespan can be extended depending on location and how well you maintain the tiling.

If the material is exposed to long periods of severe weather, it's more likely to require repair.  In some areas, where the environment is less hostile, clay tiles can withstand typical weather without issue. This is a factor beyond anyone’s control, and adverse weather will always test the durability of roof tiles over a long period.
